Tom Coburn
Senior Vice President

When it comes to providing solid insurance programs to ensure business continuity, Tom Coburn has been the one to see at Mason-McBride for more than 30 years.  According to Tom, “We do our best to make sure that our customers, large and small, feel important – because they are.”  Known for his ability to leave no stone unturned in the search for each client’s perfect coverage, Tom understands the need for developing close relationships with his clients.  He began his career as a property specialist.   Today, Tom Coburn is a seasoned professional with more than 40 years’ experience at the leading edge of the insurance industry.

Tom Coburn holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Wayne State University.  He is licensed in both property/casualty and surplus lines.

Jeff Jardine, CIC, LIC
Risk Economics Analyst

Jeff Jardine is clear about the fact that Mason-McBride, Inc.’s first priority is their clients. “We provide first-rate client service right from the initial contact and throughout the policy period.” Jeff and his colleagues do this by understanding the essence of their clients’ businesses. With this knowledge they can find ways to improve their company’s bottom line.

Jeff defines success for Mason-McBride, Inc., as seeing the clients through to success in their own endeavors. He notes that this has to be done with the highest ethical standards and utmost client service. “Our business is providing brilliant client service while seeking the proper coverage and utilizing an independent marketplace to ensure an unbeatable price.”

Jeff has his Master’s in Business Administration from Northwood University, and his Bachelor’s Degree from Olivet College, where he majored in Insurance and Risk Management. He earned several scholarships, including the Central Michigan Adjustors Insurance Scholarship and the Roy Westran Insurance Scholarship. He also served as an officer in the Alpha Alpha Chapter of the international risk management and insurance society Gamma Iota Sigma.


Meet Jeff

Scott McBride, CIC, LIC

Scott has worked in the insurance industry for more than 30 years. He joined Mason-McBride, Inc., in 1988 as an account executive servicing commercial and personal risks. In 1990, he was named Treasurer and Chief Operating Officer and named Secretary in 2001.

Scott holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Insurance Management from Ferris State University. He holds a C.I.C. designation from the Society of Certified Insurance Counselors and a L.I.C. designation from the State of Michigan. In addition, Scott provides strategic insurance consulting to Mason-McBride Capital Advisors, LLC.

Meet Scott

Michael “Mike” McBride

W. Michael McBride, JD, has over 30 years’ experience in the insurance and financial services business. Throughout that time he has served on numerous industry boards, advisory councils and committees. As President of Mason-McBride, Inc., and Mason McBride Capital Advisors, LLC, he leads a diversified insurance and financial services organization based in Troy, Michigan. Mason-McBride, Inc., is also a member/shareholder in Summit Risk Management, LLC, which provides risk consulting and specialty insurance program services. Mike holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Insurance Management from Ferris State University, and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Detroit Law School in Detroit, Michigan. He also completed an executive development program at the Wharton School of Business. He is licensed in property/casualty, life, and accident/health insurance in several states, and is also an Investment Advisor Representative with LPL Financial, where he holds Series 7 and 66 securities certifications.

In the category of retirement plans, Mike brings a unique insight to client advice and counsel that incorporates his triad of investment, legal and insurance experience.

Meet Mike

Chuck Norton
Senior Vice President

A veteran of more than three decades in the insurance industry, Chuck Norton believes that the key to success for clients of Mason-McBride, Inc., is partnership. “We are in a partnership with our clients. We help to protect their assets from insurable losses so that they are able to continue. Their risk is our risk; their success is our success.” This close relationship with clients requires trust, skill and the knowledge won through years of experience. “Insurance and loss prevention services at an equitable cost can make all the difference in whether or not a business will survive. We like to play a role in the success stories.” In his 17 years at Mason-McBride, Inc., Chuck has maintained his commitment to the industry and his clients by continuing to pursue professional achievements and affiliations such as the Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriters (CPCU) designation.

A graduate of the University of Michigan, Chuck Norton has also devoted considerable time to the service of his country in the U.S. Naval Reserve and the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. He is licensed in property/casualty insurance, and is a Licensed Insurance Counselor.

James Parry, Sr.
Senior Vice President

For Jim Parry, partnering with clients is the key to success for Mason-McBride, Inc. Jim says that a crucial component to providing quality is to “always focus on the relationship with our clients. Exceed their expectations on all professional levels.”

With 30 years of industry experience, as well as community service, Jim has learned to deliver the highest degree of integrity and professionalism to his clients. “We bring value-added services to our clients. As a partner with our clients, we contribute to their success.”

James “Jamie” Parry, Jr., CIC
Vice President, Health Care Division

According to Jamie, Mason-McBride, Inc.’s first priority is the client – how to prepare and protect their assets. “Everything we do is directed to the clients and to protecting their assets.” Jamie integrates quality, responsiveness, professionalism, and compassion to achieve the ultimate goal for his clients: results.

“Our role is to be the relationship manager, bringing all of the services, products and people to our clients.” He focuses on educating the client, then letting them decide what they want. With 28 years in the industry, Jamie’s experience truly pays off for Mason-McBride, Inc.’s clients.

Meet James Jr. “Jamie”

Amy Purcilly, CIC, ARM
Vice President, Client Development

For Amy Purcilly, “Nothing comes before the service of our clients.” Having spent nearly 25 of her 30 years in the industry at Mason-McBride, Inc., Amy has a clear picture of the company’s philosophy regarding its clients. “We are here to provide honest, fair, ethical and educational information to each client so that they are able to make the best decision for their unique situation,” she explains. “We work hard to maintain the highest ethical standards, higher even than our industry standards.”

For more than 27 years, Amy has been involved in the Michigan Association of Insurance Agents (MAIA). The MAIA is a statewide organization that represents more than 900 independent insurance agents. Her early associations came with her membership in the Young Agents Council, culminating in being named organization president from 1998 to 1999.

Amy holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and an Associate of Applied Science in Insurance from Ferris State University. To further her industry education, she received the Associate in Risk Management designation in 1987 and her property/casualty license in 1986. In April 2006, Amy received her designation as a Certified Insurance Counselor, and in October 2006, she obtained her life and health license.
