Scott McBride Elected to National Executive Committee of the Big “I”

TROY, Michigan Mason-McBride is proud to announce that Chief Operating Officer Scott McBride has been elected to the National Executive Committee of the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America, widely known as the Big “I.”

This prestigious election places McBride on a path to be inducted as the national chair in September 2030. He is only the fourth Michigan agent in history to serve on this national committee.

“It’s been an honor to serve as Michigan’s national director,” said Scott McBride. “I look forward to serving our members and all 50 state associations in a leadership role within our organization, which has worked on behalf of nearly 25,000 agencies and hundreds of thousands of dedicated professionals since 1896.”

Continuing a Michigan Tradition

Scott’s election extends a legacy of Michigan leaders making a national impact. In 2023, his brother, Mike McBride, CEO of Mason-McBride, served as Chair of the Big “I.”

Together, the McBride brothers are among the few sibling duos to serve on the Executive Committee. Their service reflects Mason-McBride’s long-standing commitment to leadership and highlights Michigan’s growing influence in shaping the future of the independent agency community.

Industry Leaders Applaud McBride’s Impact

With more than 35 years of industry experience, McBride has held multiple state and national roles.

“Scott has selflessly devoted his time and talents to helping insurance agents all over the state of Michigan,” said Jared Burkhart, CEO of Big “I” Michigan. “This recognition by his colleagues from around the country is a great honor and highlights the impact that Scott and the Michigan agent community have had on the insurance marketplace nationwide.”

“The leadership of the Big ‘I’ joins me in welcoming Scott to our Executive Committee,” said Charles Symington, Big “I” president & CEO. “He is a proven leader at the national level, having been a board director and Finance Committee chair. Scott has stepped up and served the association and the independent agent community through challenging and transformative times and will bring his depth of experience, knowledge, and insight to his new role in our organization. We are looking forward to working with him as he takes on this new position.”
